College players of the week named by TSWA - Dec. 2

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Union University’s Terrence Ringo, Jr., earned Men’s Basketball Player of the Week honors, posting 35 points and 14 rebounds in one game for the Bulldogs, as announced Tuesday by the organization.

Ringo, Jr., connected on 14-of-23 shots overall for 35 points in Union’s 99-90 win against Fisk University. He grabbed 14 boards while adding five assists and two blocks in 32 minutes of action. He is averaging 17.2 points and 8.8 rebounds in five contests this season.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Lincoln Memorial’s Alexa Smiddy was voted Women’s Basketball Player of the Week, netting 31 points in an 88-77 victory against Lenoir-Rhyne. She made 9-of-15 shots overall, including 4-for-8 from 3-point range, and connected on 9-of-13 at the foul line. She added three rebounds, three assists and two steals in the win for the Railsplitters. Smiddy is posting 12.8 points, 4.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists in five outings this year.
