King's Floyd, Belmont's Harmeyer garner TSWA honors

MEN’S BASKETBALL: King’s Floyd earns TSWA Player of the Week
NASHVILLE, Tenn.
– King University’s Jordan Floyd was named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association’s Men’s Basketball Player of the Week, registering 38.5 points in two contests, including a school single-game record for the Tornado.

The Stone Mountain, Ga., native netted 36 points at Southern Wesleyan, making 15-of-25 shots overall with five 3-pointers. He added three rebounds and three assists in the victory.

The senior posted a school single-game record 43 points against Mount Olive, hitting 18-of-27 shots with five more triples. The 18 field goals made set a single-game record as well. He recorded three rebounds and four steals. It marked the eighth 30-point game of the season.

Floyd is averaging 29.4 points and 4.1 rebounds in 14 contests this year.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL: Belmont’s Harmeyer named TSWA Player of the Week
NASHVILLE, Tenn.
– Belmont’s Ellie Harmeyer garnered Tennessee Sports Writers Association’s Women’s Basketball Player of the Week accolades, averaging 19.0 points and 13.0 rebounds with a pair of double-doubles.

She netted 22 points and 13 boards on 8-of-13 shooting versus SIU-Edwardsville, adding two assists and two steals. She made one 3-pointer and all five free throw attempts against the Cougars.

The Kenosha, Wis., native registered 16 points and 13 rebounds against Eastern Illinois, connecting 7-of-11 at the foul line along with two assists. She is averaging 17.2 points and 11.0 boards in 13 games this season.
